The Danish firm Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects (VLA) was not satisfied with their current website. They thought it lacked the right combination of creativity and professionalism. Furthermore they had some technical problems with it.
Brain storming ideas in a workshop with the management in VLA and user research provided the backdrop for a comprehensive strategy for their website and a set of recommendations both concerning content, lay-out, design and the best underlying technical solution.
Coherence was the keyword.
We made a design solution that provided a better context for the decision making process of potential customers. A new taxonomy of competences, and a design that would make the connection between what they claimed they could do, and their actual work for former clients more obvious for potential visitors.
In the context of the airy, pure and simple but solid Scandinavian design tradition we created a design that would show potential visitors the right combination of both the creative but also the reliable and professional aspects of VLA's work.
Finally, we developed a technical solution that would ensure a system that made it easy for the firm itself to quickly and effectively add new architectural projects to the site without compromising the flexibility of the design.
In collaboration with VLA KathArt implemented the site in approximately two months.
"The collaboration with KathArt about our new site was characterized by a focus on the assignment. The site made a good review and has since then been chosen as one of the best Nordic architectural sites in the leading magazine Forum AID. KathArt is an unpretentious, competent and focused firm and we will surely use them in the future."
